What went well 🏆 and where we can improve 🤯

A review of Q1 2024

Hey reader,

Q1 2024 flew by, didn't it? Let's dive into what went well and where we can improve in the next quarters.

What went well

Product launch

I’m stoked to have launched my first paid product on the Figma community – a portfolio presentation template. It's a valuable resource for job seekers, and I'm excited to see its impact on your job interviews. I also rolled out four Notion templates, covering essentials like job application tracking, resume building, and project management. These resources have proven effective for me, and I'm glad to make them available to fellow designers.

Portfolio migration

I made a strategic yet emotional move by migrating my portfolio website from Webflow to Notion. With my portfolio already on Figma, I realised I didn't need a fancy website or website builder. This shift not only streamlined my process of updating and maintaining my site, but also saved me approximately £200 annually!

Mentoring

Believe it or not, I still remain committed to mentoring designers, as I find deep fulfilment and passion. It's a priority I'm excited to continue in the next quarter and beyond.

What can be improved

Streaming

This quarter, I had hoped to organise four livestreams, but unfortunately, I only managed to pull off one. Being a new mum, my energy levels were quite low, and I found it challenging to commit to more. However, I'm not beating myself up over it. Motherhood is demanding, and I may have overestimated what I could realistically accomplish.

Course on Product Design

I've always wanted to share my experiences in the tech industry with my Italian community through a course format. While I started laying the groundwork for this course, I haven't really made any progress beyond that. Am I disappointed? Maybe a little.

Overall, I'm proud of what I've accomplished this quarter and look forward to building on these successes in the future. What have you accomplished this quarter? I’d love to hear your highs and lows!

I'm a designer who loves to make educational content. Find me on YouTube or Instagram for all things design and tech. Did you know? I offer 1-to-1 mentoring sessions for designers seeking new job opportunities or career guidance.
