What I've been up to
And what's next
Hey reader,
If you’re wondering what I’ve been up to, it’s probably because I used to share a lot on social media, and suddenly, I’ve gone quiet. It happens, you know? Life shifts, routines change, and priorities evolve.
The truth is, when I’m not job hunting, I’m with my son or working on my business. Even if it doesn’t always look like it from the outside, I’m always doing something (like most of us). But I’m not in a rush. I’m giving myself the time to find the right role on my terms while soaking up these moments with my son.
We’re often told that maternity leave is a 9-12 months pause before jumping straight back into work as if nothing has changed. But I don’t see it that way. My son is 15 months now, and this stage of motherhood feels more exciting than ever and I want to be fully present for it. There will come a time when I’m ready to dive back in completely, just as I have in the past, but that time isn’t today. The right opportunity will come, and until then, I’m still designing and creating, just in a different way.
Slowing down has been refreshing. When we pause and observe, new ideas emerge. Here are some of mine.
More mentoring
For the past few years, I’ve been helping many of you with your projects and job applications. Now, I want to take it a step further and offer a more structured format with two months of unlimited support where we can dive deep into your unique story, tackle challenges head-on, and work towards your goals. I’m excited to create a space where we can focus on real progress together. More details coming soon!
Content and formats
It’s amazing how much UX content is out there these days! I’m feeling inspired to create something truly valuable, something that goes beyond the usual advice and actually helps people in a meaningful way. To keep it focused, I’ve defined three main pillars:
🧠 Healthy career: motherhood, job hunting, and work-life harmony.
🛠 Productivity: templates and tools to stay organised.
🎨 UX advice: practical guidance to level up your skills.
Book writing
One day, I’d love to write a book about the intersection of work and mental health. How our careers shape our well-being, the unspoken pressures we face, and the ways we can create healthier, more sustainable work lives. From burnout to work-life balance, from identity shifts to finding fulfilment, there’s so much to explore! It’s a conversation we don’t have enough, and I’d love to dive deep into it, sharing my stories to help people navigate work in a way that feels good mentally, emotionally, and professionally.
I’m not sure when I’ll accomplish all the goals I’ve set for this year, but I’m choosing to follow my momentum. For years, I believed that if I had an idea, I had to act on it immediately because if I didn’t, it would be too late, and someone else would have already taken it.
I still believe that growth comes from pushing ourselves outside our comfort zones and embracing challenges. But I’ve also learned that timing matters. The best decisions come from listening to our intuition, not from a place of fear or scarcity. Sometimes, the most powerful move is to pause, trust the process, and act when it truly feels right.
All the best,
Sara
